How do you seemlessly blend design with function? David Heiner Campos, Senior Specialist Global Marketing, worked hand in hand with engineering to come up with the best solution for our newest portable X-ray system. Read on to discover the role of marketing in the ECO's story.
Tell us about the collaborative efforts behind the ECO series and how they reflect Comet's product-design philosophy?
Our ECO series represents a leap forward in NDT, where practicality and precision are paramount. It's not just a showcase of Comet X-ray's commitment to product development but a testament to the power of collaboration. Working with Kenneth Mozer, a master in engineering, has been a journey of blending form with function in ways that redefine the portable X-ray industry.
At Comet X-ray, we approach product design with a philosophy that respects our core value - function precedes form. Yet, we understand that excellent functionality is only part of the story. It's about how seamlessly a product integrates into the workflow and how intuitively the user interacts with it the product.
What inspired the all-black design of the ECO series and its functional implications?
The ECO series' design was more than a discussion of aesthetics; it was a dive into how each design element could enhance the product's functionality and user experience. The decision to adopt an all-black theme was not merely a stylistic choice but also an evaluation of available materials and market trends.
How does the ECO series represent Comet?
The ECO series fuses Kenneth's engineering with our insights into market needs, culminating in a product that is not just functional but also environmentally friendly and aesthetically pleasing. I think it is more than just an X-ray system; it symbolizes how thoughtfully designed products can impact an industry.
And lastly, how can readers become participants in the ECO community?
Well, I'd like to invite everyone reading this to be a part of the ECO community by telling their ECO stories. To do so feel free to contact me directly and I will share your ECO experiences.
Stay tuned for our upcoming customer stories to see the real-world impact of the ECO series.

As industrial components continue to reduce in size, X-ray inspection is crucial for detecting microscopic defects across a range of applications, from materials science to electronics failure analysis to biological samples. At the same time, obtaining high-quality data as quickly as possible so users can spend more time analyzing their data and producing actionable insights is also critical. This calls for high-power X-ray output and a stable, high-resolution beam. The FXE-160 Nano CT can rapidly examine sub-micron defects across a wide range of lab applications by leveraging external cooling and higher resolution.
